You can often fix a USB flash drive by reformatting it. However that will require that you select it. If the computer is not recognizing it, you may be able to open the Control Panel and view DEVICES AND PRINTERS. The faulty flash drive may show up there as an unknown USB device. If it does, you can right click on it and select TROUBLESHOOT. The troubleshooter may (or may not) fix it.
