: : : : My Dell Windows 10 computer won't recognize my Kindle Fire as a connected device. It worked fine in Windows 7, but since I upgraded to Windows 10, plugging my Kindle Fire into the computer via a USB cable doesn't work. The computer recognizes the Kindle Fire for a moment, but then the "connected" screen goes away.

: : : Have you tried connecting it to other USB ports? The ones on the back are supposed to have more power.

: : Good suggestion. I tried it, but no luck. If I leave the Kindle plugged into that back USB port, it still shows up occasionally (same as if I plug it into a front port), but it only appears momentarily. Then it goes away and doesn't come back.

: You say it worked using Windows 7. Was that the same computer you are using now? (You need to start eliminating variables.)

No, it was a different computer. My old XP computer recognized my Kindle, and my Windows 7 laptop will recognize my Kindle. But when I got a new Dell Windows 10 computer, it wouldn't recognize my Kindle.
